Edge Composites Wheels Update
Just a little somethin' somethin' about the most excellent Edge Composites carbon 29'er wheels on test thus far. 100's of miles on them and I am more and more impressed....

you think these are mostly a race day wheel?

Thus far my answer without batting an eye is 'either'. What I mean is a wheel that is super light for race day applications, while (thus far) totally bomber for everyday use. I will be beating on this incessantly over the next few months so stay tuned but I have been riding them on stuff repeatedly that you would not normally race XC on...e.g. rock gardens, drop offs and other Colorado nastiness to truly see what Edge has done. The wheels have taken significant abuse thus far (sorry Sager) with rocks getting slammed into the carbon hoops. It'd cause me to stop and look...and nothing. As far as the Stans application goes, again, zero leakage or burping even as I've brought the PSI down to sensible levels...34-36 PSI for my 180lbs carcass. I think that many of these uber pros run mad light (likely non tubeless specific) tires to attempt weight savings and burp repeatedly given the flimsiness of the sidewalls (which are anticipating inner tubes to support them). but the Geax thus far have held tru, save the hole I punctured in one which I need to patch. Anyways, still all good.
More to come.
have you taken them to Heil?

Yes indeedy, Von. The wheels did great over that treacherous slog of Heil/Picture.
sounds promising, but would the wife be down with me spending 2200 on a wheel set LOL
V-start your Jedi Mind Trick planning now.
