Feigning weather

Mother nature does not know what she wants. Snow, no snow, rain, no rain. Peeks of sun...then overcast. We headed up to Beaver Creek and stayed at the posh Park Hyatt. Freebie from work. I had to talk the company's best sales guys through what kind of products my team and I are building from now through 09. They chose BC to throw down. Sort of a rah rah session. I like makin' the stuff sell itself but these big guns have this selling stuff down to a science. All the while threatening to snow 12" and trap us away from our kids at altitude.

Tomorrow is Boulder Roubaix. I'm not in race shape but I am going to go and race for some of my 'mates who are flying. Provide wheels, string out the peleton and then sit in and protect them. It'll be fun and the weather will not play a factor. The dirt will be fast. The breakup will come 2nd lap and not at the Kemmel, but rather at the climb before start finish. Trust me. It's more deceptive than people realize.

Daily Camera Audio Slide Show of Kopp

This is our home town newspaper's report of the Kopp race. Very nicely done. Photos really capture the essence of the race and the racer's sound bytes are spot on.

See the audio slide show HERE.

Ali-jet? Poor bastard is getting smoked after his knee cap crackage in last yours Giro. Getting the royal beat down from Tommeke and just about anyone else who can throw 14 hundy watts for 500 meters. But holy crap in the pants: Herr JJ war wunderbar im Rund um Köln !! JJ is obviously going to land a bigger contract for next year and will have his own JJ-train for sure. Maybe an action figure too. My team mate was the T/U soigneur last year and spoke super highly of this prodigy. I'm stoked to see what unfolds with JJ overseas.

Today was a dramatic difference from yesterday. Snow and piss-ice rain to 60 degrees in sunny. I rolled so nice and easy today to get the legs turning a bit after the viral debacle of the last week or more. It brought smiles. Going to ease the throttle up and end the week with a race and use it for some intensity and see if I can help out a couple-a team mates who are flying these days. Tim'll be comin' down the mountain and we'll roll the B/R.
