Las Frischi

So, I'll be mixing it up at Cross Vegas and I am absolutely pumped. But what makes it even more special is that it is one of my heros final dances. Frischi is retiring and will be racing Cross Vegas as his last goodbye to his fans and there'll be parties celebrating his unbelievable racing career. I am so stoked to be mixing it up. I'll try not to take him out. HA!

More tuning as I scramble to get some form but it's all coming along and I'm happy. Truthfully, I think my lack of focus on training and racing has done wonders. I feel deeper and know the room I have yet to fill...as opposed to the feeling you have when you are sharp and fit and not sure what else you need to tune. Maybe I should drink more beer....

Onward.

A delightful bouquet of carbon and sweaty saddle. Red's in the house....

BCSCX Clinic No. 2!

OK, CLEARLY 'cross is growing off the charts. I think we had double the amount of people here at tonight's clinic that we had last week. INCREDIBLE! Again we had children, pro 1-2's AND national champions in our midst, all honing their skills to completely rip it this season. In fact, I even think some confidence is brewing on how the gauntlet is going to be thrown down, especially on other cross hotbeds in our big Nation. I hear PDX is in the cross hairs of a few Boulder 'crossers:

Ha! Kidding Chris D and our 'cross brethren in Portland. But seriously, watch your backs.

HA!

Today we had so many folks, Dubba, Matt Pacocha and I had to break the main group into roughly 3 groups of 15-20 and focus on individuals. Today, we re-capped our skills from last week, then broke into these groups and went deeper into the nuances. We capped it off with start drills. I damn near killed myself demonstrating fdast starts by blowing the chain right off my bike! Ha!

But all said and done, I am in LOVE with watching folks fall in LOVE with this sport.

Kabush: careful when you remount cause I think Dubba stole your seat.

Only a section of the people who came tonight...I need a fisheye!
Yup. This is about family. SO good! Can't wait for my boys to hup it up

Wednesday Worlds - Week 1

OK, so officially, this is really 'week 2' as a handful of us when out last week, but most of the folks came out of their hiatus today for the changing of the leaves. 49 degrees this AM! Sick! This said, it truly can't be cross season yet as Dubba's leg's are still as hairy as can be and Webber is still wearing his baggy downhill shorts.

We sell no wine before it's time.

Great sessions today and I feel excatly where I want to be in term sof fitness. Honestly, work to do but grins in my head for having spent a total of a handful of hours training this, the summer of the shit. Didn't go too hard and felt totally comfortable, and didn't feel all impulsed to go any deeper at session 2. Now, the trick is to stay in the progression and stay healthy.

Red Sex

Oh dear. Oh my. My dear friends at Veltec gave me a heads up to these precious gems releasing a few weeks ago but I was sworn to secrecy. However, the Olympics changed ALL that and it was GAME ON to blab on about 'them'.

So, what did I see? Nino rocking the White Sex after he dropped Sauser like a bad habit....

...then stepping onto the podium to accept his bronze in dripping Red Sex:
Bet ya didn't notice that (well, except maybe you KP).

Not unlike a pair of Ferrari's for your feet, Sidi has pushed the envelope with their glossy (yes glossy) red Dragon II Vernice:

There's a strange pull I have towards this....not unlike the Millennium Falcon getting pulled in by the Death Star's tractor beam.

Is this the next wave? What happened to Orange...or the return of the day-glow?
