Arm and leg warmers....

...were worn today for the first time in a LONG time. The air was a bit damp and while you did not really need them, my recovery ride today was slow and nice...and the arms and legs kept the sore tired muscles nice and warm. Pulling back into the garage to put the bikes away before work, i saw my embrocation oils sitting there with a layer of dust on them. I opened it up, took a whiff of its minty fresh effervescence and smiled.

Cross begins in one month.

This weekend was annihilating. This was the final week of tearing the body down and working on weakness by climbing ridiculous amounts on Sat and Sun. Again, both days saw 4-6 pounds of weight reduced after each ride....even while madly consuming liquids during the rides. The switch to speed, moto pacing and the stuff my 6'2" carcass was meant to do takes off going forward. Mmm.

Clinics soon folks. Got to get my schedule worked out.

Do something 'crossy today.

Oh: here's a hint: You can not get them in the United States. Look outside our borders.

Ah, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff. The White Sex are an elusive creature. Not unlike the Yeti.

If you want them, they will materialize.

This weekend I built some backpack-able pvc hurdles based on your design.

This morning I got in the first run of the year (in the rain even).

Next up is a session with tubies, glue, and a couple of belgians (liquid).

First 'cross practice one evening this week.

Gettin' ready day by day.

yes Greg, I remember seeing a post about how elusive they are. spill the goods! Yetis are easy to find, right down in Golden. shoot me an email if need be, I just can't stand the black.

i want them, yet I can't find them...

I probably should have said Saskwatch, not Yeti!

Truthfully, I got a set through www.bikediscount.de, an Austrian based on line bike retailer. They are fairly big and trust worthy and I was able to call and talk to them. I speak German so it worked out although they speak English. They have an online store but I suggest sending a note first to see if they have them in stock and further to ensure there are no shipping issues. The shoes were competitively priced BUT their shipping costs were fairly expensive.

I think I saw them. Sidi Dragon 2 SRS weiss/blau.

what colors are "weiss/blau"?

pearl white and blue?

did yours come with some spikes, or do you just buy them elsewhere?

August 7, 2007 | Unregistered Commenterjeff

Weiss und Blau literally means white and blue. They do not come with spikes, those you have to buy separately. Note that Sidi spikes are typically longer than those 'soccer style' spikes you see on Shimano's and/or Specialized footwear. The Sidi spikes are just that: spikes. Here's a tip with Sidis: When you get them IMMEDIATELY replace the place-holder screws they ship with that fill the holes where the spikes will go with a flat head style top screw. The original screws Sidi ships are REALLY hard to unscrew if you wear the shoes a bit and get the philip-head tops worn out. You can only wear the spikes when the conditions are really muddy so the new screws will make it easier to take in and out.

thanks Greg. yes I've trashed my threads on Sidis in the past b/c I didn't cover the threads/holes early enough. Did you just pick up some little screws at a hardware store?
Yeah I prob won't be running them that often, but races like Interlocken or Red Rocks elem school....I'll certainly want them.
