Time machine.

Daaaaamn. We are all getting older. Even the cyborg, Sven Nijs is beginning to show some weather. I've got a couple-a 3 or 4 gray hairs starting to show their face in the bouffant, but Sven's head is either getting bigger with each World Cup victory or he's starting to show some age:It's all good Sven. It's aaaaaaaaaaall good. Getting older is OK, man. No need to worry about that little wunderkind Niels Albert or Klaas Vanthournout (FYI: He's my prediction of the up-and-comer for this season). Just keep doing your bunny hoppin' thing out there and keep that Giro on your dome. No one will know.

I don't know if he counts as an up and comer, but I like Lars Boom. What a name. BOOM!

I'd say Lars is already there! He'll be wearing the tricolor of the NL this year after winning their nats so I'd say he's made it. Niels has a couple-a GVA's and will invariably be the next poster boy, but there' something about Klaas that makes me think he'll b e the next Erwin. He was coming on strong at the end of last season.

So I have a theory about the hair, but first let me say, I respect Mr Nijs.

Have you ever noticed all the athletes, cycling, baseball, track and field etc, who have been busted for doping ie EPO all have that same receding hair line? As Arsenio Hall said,"Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmm".

Niels, is going to have his work cut out for him this season. He destroyed his collarbone this summer. I'm thinking he could, however be the fastest guy down the stretch going into worlds.

I think Lars is going to focus on the road and won't be doing a lot of 'cross. Bummer...hope I'm wrong. There are some young Czech's that are coming on strong too. It's not all about the low countries!

I dunno, Chris. Cyclingnews states:

"While Niels Albert (Palmans) was crashing against posts, his rival Lars Boom (Rabobank Continental Team) won the Dutch national TT championships. Despite the success on the road, the espoir world champion decided in August that he would focus more than ever on cyclo-cross. "I decided to fully focus on cyclo-cross during the next couple of seasons, mainly because cycling on the road has a much bigger impact on your body"

That bodes well for Lars!

I am shocked that Niels just won the first cx race today after his recent injuries - wow! And even though Tommeke is my man (albeit cardboard), I am a huge Nys fan. He has always been nothing but professional in his interviews.

Whatup, Peanut!? Hope CA is treating you well!

Indeed Niels pulling out the W with that shattered collar bone is pretty amazing. Given the time gap, it shows Klaas V is hopefully going to live up to my predictions though, as well.

Yes. I have begun stalking Sven as well.
