The Katie Compton Interview | Recorded by Brian Patrick
I'm amazed by elite athletes. So many have a perception that they are standoffish premedonna types. Not Katie. Not by a long stretch. Interviewing Katie is ore like hanging out with her and as you'll see, so core and down to earth it's amazing. You can't help but want her to win and win big in Tabor in January.
Thanks to Brian Patrick of On site Media, I can re-cast this to you to enjoy and learn more about Katie and her incredible husband Mark Legg-Compton (whom I race with and have learned TONS about the nuances of cross bikes and equipment over the years).

Happy Hour with Katie Compton! | Plus a Q & A with Mud and Cowbells
Brandon has put something special together this coming Friday, Dec. 4th from 5pm to 7pm at Boulder Cycle Sport! Come on in and bring your kids for a Q & A and autograph session with current U.S. Cyclocross National Champion Katie Compton! We’ve not only got Katie captive, but also her husband Mark Legg-Compton, before they head to Bend for a bid on the Stars and Bars and back to Europe for a shot at THE Jersey: The World Champion’s. Yours truly will be asking Katie some questions about her campaign, training….well just about anything! Send me your questions via comments to this post!
Boulder Cycle Sport will also be having a raffle to raise money for the Boulder Junior Cycling program and have TONS of great stuff from SRAM, ZIPP, CRANK BROTHERS and TRP to give away! We will do a short question and answer session with Katie and Mark, then Katie will mingle with the crowd and sign autographs, while Mark will answer questions and talk about Katie's race bike.
So come on in to BCS on Friday December 4th and meet our Nation’s Cyclocross Champion and learn the ins and outs of being a top pro on the European CX circuit!

Happy 3rd Birthday M & C | What next?
This whole blogging thing started three years ago for me on a whim and I've documented plenty of times previously what the inspiration was. I would simply document the path to getting to Master's Worlds in Belgium and then jettison the blog once my mission was complete.
But alas it's still here and the fun in writing has never waned. The single most important aspect however are the connections between real people. I truly feel the power of what the internet could be (or should be) by writing truthfully and growing connections between people (me included!) that feel the same way and share similar experiences. It's an awesome, truly awesome, thing to experience.
I am not sure where all this is going to go but am envisioning the next evolution of Mud and Cowbells. I envision a growing group of authors, an evolution of the blogging platform to involve more video and of course a growth in our community of 'crossers....especially the ones who have to struggle to balance to fit it all in. The working, the life responsibilities to family or school and of course the racing and joy of being on the bike.
Thank you all for reading regularly and I will do my damnedest to try and keep you entertained!
